Protein makes up the second greatest portion of our body weight. Proteins are vital to life and it provides the structure in all living things. It's easy to see why it's so important to eat an efficient amount of a complete protein in our daily diets.
Your muscles are made of protein and the amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Making sure that you're eating a diet rich in protein have a lot of positive effects.
For once it's easier to maintain a desirable weight if you consume a low carbohydrate, low fat but a moderate to high protein diet. Excess protein cannot turn into fat or being stored as fat and eating too much protein will only result in your kidneys flushing it out.
In addition, to keep our muscles healthy and to prevent them from atrophying, as we get older it's essential that we eat a protein rich diet and exercise.
Women commonly eat more carbohydrates then we need and far too little protein in the diets. By starting each meal by eating the protein on your plate before you eat the carbohydrates, you will not only make sure you get the protein you need but you also fool your stomach to get a little full on the protein and therefore not wanting as many carbohydrates as if you would have eaten them first.
Good sources of complete proteins are white chicken, white turkey, fish, seafood, egg whites and protein supplements like protein powders and protein bars.
