Nothing is more important especially for your employer to keep a good level of energy in your work place whether you work out of an office or in a larger warehouse type of building.
There are a quiet a few factors that play a major role when it comes to the energy level at work. Some of these factors are individual; others are environmental and work related.
You can try to assure your own personal energy level by eating right and exercising. But sometimes there are other factors like the air we work in or the level of noise around us that have a negative effect on our energy level. The lighting we perform our work in also plays a part in how energetic we feel. Our body produces energy from the light and with help of vitamin D in our skin and if we work in a poorly lit room, we will tire faster. We have a hormone called melatonin in our body that is being released when we are about to go to sleep. If it's dark around us and we are not exposed to any light for hours on hand, our body starts to produce melatonin, thinking it's time get us ready for the night and eventually sleep.
Sometimes, just to take a 15 minutes walk outside on your lunch break makes all the difference in the world on your energy levels. To get some light on your skin helps the body produce more energy. If you can't leave the room you work in at least try to open a window and get some fresh air in. If the air we breathe doesn't have an efficient amount of oxygen in it, we will also feel less energetic and our mind will slow down and not be as alert.
If you want to assure good air, put some green leafy plants in your office. The leaves will produce chlorophyll and the photosynthesis will produce oxygen to be release din the air of your workplace.
This is a healthy and environmental way of increasing the energy level at your workplace at the same time as you create a cozy workplace. Sometimes it can be hard to drink water while you work but when your body gets dehydrated you will feel fatigue. Do keep a water bottle handy and take small sips of all day will keep your body hydrated and your energy up. Having healthy protein snacks between meals is a good way to keep your body energized when working long hours.
Your energy level is also affected by your thoughts and mental approach to life. Thinking positive thoughts has been proven linked to higher energy levels at the same time as a negative approach to things around you brings your mood and your energy levels down. The connection between body and mind is far stronger then we sometimes are willing to accept. The stress levels around us in our work environment can be very draining and consume all our energy if we don't prepare ourselves as good as we can to handle it. Exercising helps the body relieve stress that could drain our mind and body completely.
Sometimes just getting up and stretching out your body helps to relieve some build up stress in our muscles. Practice a few good stretches at the gym that you can easily do just by getting up from your desk for a few minutes during your workday. If you have computer job you need to stretch your neck, back and chest in order not to build up a lot of tension in your chest muscles and that way bring your shoulders forward, lose your posture and lock in a lot of energy in your center of your body. By stretching out your pectorals muscles, you will open up a very important energy storage that yoga teachers often refer to as your chakra. This has been known in ancient Asian cultures as the center of energy for thousands of years and is only new to Western societies. For the energy to be able to flow freely in our bodies, we need to keep tension to a minimum, which is sometimes hard with our tough work schedules, family duties and long days.
