Let's face it, not many of us enjoy cardio exercise. It's anything but fun. However to stay healthy and in order to keep those extra pounds of our bodies, nothing works wonders like fun cardio exercise on a regular basis. Staying active and keeping your fun cardio level up gives you far more benefits then you could possibly imagine. Not only will burning some extra calories on the treadmill make you look better, it will also due wonders for your heart, your blood pressure, your circulation, your metabolism and your endorphins.
In order to stay consistent with your fun cardio workouts, you need to make it fun and challenging and an overall pleasant experience. If you prefer the treadmill to for an example the stairmaster or the precore, then stick to the treadmill. It doesn't really matter what piece of equipment you choose to use as long as you keep on doing it.
Some people prefer to do their fun cardio workouts indoors at a health club while others enjoy the outdoors more and like to go hiking, power walking, jogging or bike riding. The trick to consistency is to find something that you enjoy doing and that is fun. Not only will you get bored if you don't really like being on the treadmill for 45 minutes, you won't keep doing it consistently so make sure you find the fun cardio activity that fits your lifestyle.
Most health clubs offer a variety of aerobic classes on different levels of intensity. This might be an option to the treadmill if you like exercising in a group and perhaps get the support from others with the same goals and intentions.
You might want to try to get your girlfriends to create a walking group in the neighborhood. You can put up flyers at your local supermarket to recruit people for your group. It's a fun way of getting to know new people and to get your fun cardio in at the same time.
Stairs of any kind in a park or at an arena are great while doing outdoor fun cardio exercise. You can walk up the stairs taking long lounging steps up the stairs and walk down at a little bit higher pace to get your heart rate up to the fat burning level.
The key word again is fun. If it's fun you will keep doing it!
You can also go bike riding or roller blading along the beach or any other recreational area that is available in your neighborhood.
To make your fun cardio training even more fun, use your favorite music as a power booster. Record your favorite tunes as a special fun cardio cassette. Music is a very powerful energy booster and could be that little something that makes a lot of difference on the days doing fun cardio feels hard.
Another important aspect of your fun cardio exercise is to try not to be too focused on burning calories but more on feeling good and staying healthy. A fun cardio workout gets your endorphin hormones elevated and you automatically feel more relaxed and in balance with yourself after your workout.
With the sedentary lifestyles that many of us are forced to live nowadays due to our jobs or other environmental situations, we need to make sure we have some kind of sports activity that keeps us healthy and moving.
Our bodies are made to be moving to keep our muscles healthy and strong and our heart and fun cardio system functioning.
Without an active lifestyle we become lethargic and before we know it we are victims of the couch potato generation, so make your cardio training as fun as possible!
