No fat loss drugs are a suitable substitute for healthy diet and exercise. Prescription fat loss drugs are mainly tools in the fight to lose excess weight when traditional fat loss methods do not work (depending upon the patient). There are numerous brands and generic versions of fat loss drugs on the market that claim to do anything from suppress your appetite to prevent carbohydrates from being stored as fat. Whether this works or not the pharmaceutical market is booming to the tune of a ten-figure yearly revenue when it comes to prescribing fat loss drugs.
Unfortunately, some doctors are a little too overzealous when prescribing fat loss drugs, but then again, most M.D.'s know very little about effective, cutting-edge diet and weight training advice to burn body fat and build muscle. This is a sad but true fact about American medicine. Not to sound cynical, of course, but the state of affairs in America is one where corporate drug giants make an extremely generous profit from treating a disease like obesity rather than curing it.
Shareholders and corporate executives may disagree, but the truth is, America is experiencing an obesity pandemic. Being the instant-gratification culture that we are who want results yesterday rather than achieving them through hard work, this philosophy towards fat loss will translate into billions upon billions of profit. Those with a vested interest in fat loss drugs need not worry about their portfolio, because with so much confusion, disinformation, and conflicting advice about weight loss, millions of Americans are bound to resort to more and more fat loss drugs to cure their dilemma.
And what's the morale of the story? Well, if sleezy corner drug dealers had a manual, Lesson 101 would be as follows:
The profit in dealing fat loss drugs is the kickback — not the cure.
However it should be noted that these fat loss drugs do work, and have changed the lives of thousands of over-weight people. It's just that ethics and morality have clashed with those in the business of saving lives at a premium charge for their deeds.
Thankfully, fat loss, low body fat, firm and tone muscle, and a healthy mind and body can be achieved relatively free of charge through old fashioned diet and exercise.
