Weight Loss Advice & Help

Exclusive Weight Loss Q&A!

Weight Loss Help: Is it true that eating fewer calories a day would make me lose weight faster?

Weight Loss Advice: Eating fewer calories a day is relative and depends on what you were eating before, your activity level and what food group your total daily caloric intake come from. If you were eating too many calories before and get on a diet containing fewer calories the answer is going to be yes, you will experience weight loss by cutting the calories. Now on the other hand if you were eating already a restricted calorie diet and then decrease your calories even more, your metabolism will slow down and your body will hold on to whatever calories you take in and in that case you won't have any weight loss at all. In fact you might even gain a few pounds from eating too little instead.

Weight Loss Help: Can I cut out all carbohydrates to speed up weight loss?

Weight Loss Advice: There are a lot of new age diets on the market right now with very low carbohydrate intake. Keep in mind that you need food and nutrients from all three food groups such as carbohydrates, protein and fat for your body to function and that includes your metabolism too. If you do not feed your body the required nutrients you won't be able to reach any goals or get any results at all. The carbohydrates will provide you with the energy that you will need to keep active in order to stay fit and lean. It's a matter of balance in your diet between the food groups. The starchy carbohydrates are the ones you should stay low on but you can eat as much green vegetables carbohydrates as you want without gaining weight.

Weight Loss Help: Is there anything I can take or do to help my weight loss program without working out or changing my fat loss diet?

Weight Loss Advice: We all wish there was a magic drink or pill we could take once a day and get in shape without even having to move or worry about what we eat but unfortunately there is none. Getting in shape and staying in shape is a lifelong struggle for many. The best way to look at it is to make a healthy living your choice of lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle is not something you get into and do for three months to get in good shape before you slip back into your old habits and most likely your old bodyweight. With a healthy lifestyle come health and all the benefits from that go hand in hand with having your health. Instead of looking at it as hard work, think of it as a way of life and once you get use to eating healthy and working out, you will feel so much better all around that you don't want to go back to living like you did before.

Weight Loss Help: Do I have to workout to get my body in "weight loss mode"?

Weight Loss Advice: There are two components involved in losing weight, the diet and the exercise. If you choose to do only one of them, you will of course achieve half the results however it is possible to achieve somewhat rewarding results if you only eat right but don't workout or workout but not changing your diet. The combination of both is the ultimate tool to get in shape but if time or any other obstacle is the reason to why you can only commit to one of them then choose the diet. If your eating habits are healthy, weight loss — and keeping the weight off — should come naturally. However if you work out and do not eat right, the weight loss results will be very minimum. The goal is to always keep your weight loss or muscle building program moving at full speed. Why waste time with half-assed results when you could achieve your weight loss goals as fast as possible?

Weight Loss Help: Will eating more then twice a day make me fat?

Weight Loss Advice: As we mentioned before, you need to eat every three to four hours in order for your metabolism to kick in and work properly. A car that doesn't burn fuel, don't run and your body works the same way.

Weight Loss Help: Do I have to eat even if I am not hungry? I want to get my weight loss routine going, but I'm not always hungry to eat multiple times a day.

Weight Loss Advice: In the beginning when you change your eating habits, it will be hard to eat every three to four hours if you are not hungry but eventually after two weeks or so, you have trained your body to be hungry at the three hour mark every day and you have changed your metabolism into a healthy burning machine.

Weight Loss Help: Do carbohydrates make me fat or screw up weight loss?

Weight Loss Advice: Yes, if you eat too many carbohydrates compared to how much energy you burn, the excess amount of carbohydrates will be stored in your body as fat and not used up for energy at the time you consume them.

Weight Loss Help: Is water a fat burner?

Weight Loss Advice: Water is the best natural fat burner you can use. Not only do you need water constantly in your body to be replaced when you workout and sweat but you also need water for your organs, your digestion, your metabolism and your bodily functions. At the same time as water is a must for your body, drinking enough of it has a fat burning effect as well. The more water you drink, the more waste products left over in your system after your body uses up whatever nutrients it needs from the food you eat, will get flushed out with your sweat, urine and other body fluids. The extra pounds of waste, we carry around if we don't consume enough water is a welcome fat loss.

Weight Loss Help: When training hard to excel the weight loss process, do I need to avoid sugar or simple sugars (whatever they are called)?

Weight Loss Advice: Sugar is a carbohydrate in its worse form. Sugar is to weight loss as saturated fat is to cardiovascular health. Simple sugars will most likely be stored as extra calories in your body unless you are a marathon runner or triathlon athlete that will actually manage to burn off all the calories from sugar.
