Nutrition Advice – Weight Loss Knowledge is Power!

Nutrition Advice

It ought to be everyone's priority to provide our own bodies with nutritious food but it's not. The majority of the population in the Western society has unfortunately no idea about nutrition and is therefore unaware of how harmful their daily intake of excess calories and fat is to their health.

The Basics of Nutrition Advice

Here are some basic nutrition advice that are easy to follow and don't require a lot of knowledge to understand. The only thing that should be of concern to every person is to get the essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients on a daily basis. In order to achieve that you need to eat a balanced diet that contains them all.

Nutrition Advice Rules

The number one rule is the one most Americans break every day, to eat breakfast. When you eat the first meal of the day, your metabolism kicks in and start working. The longer you go without eating the slower your metabolism gets and when you later in the day overload in carbohydrates because you are starving, your body can't handle all those calories in one sitting and will store most of them as fat. This is great way to gain weight and to get a really lazy metabolism.

Try to get a little bit of protein, carbohydrates and fat in each meal of the day to ensure that your body gets what it needs to get through the day. The goal is to eat every three to four hours throughout the whole awake time of your day. Make every other meal a smaller snack so if you start with breakfast, then a snack three hours later, lunch three hours after that, a snack again in the afternoon and a sensible dinner three hours after the last snack. Eat the heavier carbohydrates like rice or potato with your lunch meal and the lighter ones like greens and salad, with your dinner.

Nutrition Advice Health Tips

Another important nutrition advice is to stay away from preservatives that unfortunately are mistakenly called food sometimes. The most predominant preservatives are the ones found in cheese, bread, ready made dishes, soda, can-food, candy and sugary bakery. These chemicals, called preservatives, are very bad for our health and even more dangerous is the fact that we are so undereducated in the matter.

Most products that are called fat free or sugar free are usually loaded with chemicals and preservatives. Common sense would tell you that your body can't process anything that is not a nutrient but a chemical.

The lesson to learn is to stick to clean and basic food like raw vegetable, fruit, fish, shellfish, chicken, turkey, lean red meat, eggs, rice, multigrain real bread, water and some dairy products. These are the basic nutrients that will keep your body healthy, strong and alert.

Nutrition Advice Bites I

If you want to make sure you get the vitamins and minerals your body need you can add a multi vitamin-mineral supplement to your diet.

Nutrition Advice Bites II

Stay away from high fat and high sugar foods since these are just empty unnecessary calories pored into your body.

Nutrition Advice Bites III

The best thing to drink is water and lots of it. You can hardly drink too much water.

Nutrition Advice Bites IV

Keep salt to a minimum in your food. Use other spices to enhance the flavor of the food.

Nutrition Advice Bites V

Be aware of the danger of eating fried food and what it does to your arteries and cholesterol. It's not a coincident that heart diseases and cholesterol levels have gone up in this fried food obsessed society.

Nutrition Advice Bites VI

Sugar substitute is yet another chemical to stay away from. The most common one is aspartame that is usually used in sugar-free food and drinks to give it the sweet taste.
